Seasoning Mixes
Below are recipes for several of the seasoning mixes that are used in my recipes.
Handy tools to have on hand when making your seasoning mixes:
- mortar and pestle or electric herb grinder: For grinding your spices into finer grains or powders.
- spice jars: To store your mixes.
- measuring spoons and cups: To accurately measure out the ingredients for your mixes.
- dust mask, safety googles, rubber gloves: Some spices can cause irritation in your lungs, eyes, or on your skin; especially for those with respiratory issues or sensitivities. These items can help reduce any discomfort those spices may cause.
- funnel: To pour your mixes into your spice jars
- labels: Labelling your mixes as soon as they are made will prevent mix-ups in your recipes.
- herb scissors: For cutting your fresh herbs into fine pieces.
- dehydrator, or baking tray and an oven: For drying your own fresh ingredients to create the spices for your mixes.
